BUILDING

VES has a wealth of classrooms to match all age groups, from Foundation Stage through to the Sixth Form. The Nursery School is housed in a separate building. The school has 4 Science laboratories for the Secondary school, a multipurpose hall, a swimming pool and an outdoor playing area. The PE department also uses a local sports club for some of the afterschool fixtures. The school’s librarian ensures the library is resourced with books for study as well as recreational reading. The school also benefits from a small canteen selling light snacks. The running of the canteen is outsourced.

SECURITY

Our premises are kept secure by our own security staff. The school is also monitored by cctv cameras. Visitors to the school should report to reception where they will be asked to sign the Visitors’ Book.

EMERGENCY

Safety is paramount and with this in mind, the school has a clear and comprehensive ‘Fire’ policy. In the case of fire or other emergency all visitors must go to the "muster point" at the side of the school.

TRANSPORT

Many parents choose to bring their children to school each day. For those who are unable to do this, the school provides a bus service to and from school. The school has 14 buses and these are maintained and run by the school.  Places on the buses must be booked at the beginning of the school year. Route and fee information can be obtained from the school reception.

This year we are implementing a school bus attendance and tracking system where students are automatically logged on and off the bus.  Parents can check attendance and track the bus through our app.

RECYCLING AND ENERGY SAVING
The school encourages its children to be environmentally aware. We teach children about the importance of conserving water and reducing the use of electricity. Even our youngest children are aware of the issues of leaving taps running and not turning off lights when they leave rooms.
Recycling bins have been in place around the school since 2012. Children and staff are encouraged to recycle paper and plastics.
